Il fatto è che arrischiarsi in una traduzione di lacerti così poco contestualizzati e con interessanti particolarità stilistiche comporta il rischio di prendere poderosi granchi.

It is considered that Pompeii was destroyed in the first century and, being buried under a layer of volcanic ash and pumice-stone, it remained forgotten for more than 1500 years until in 1592 the architect Domenico Fontana, during the construction of a canal to bring water to Torre Annunziata, found in an underground passageway several inscriptions on marble plates indicating the location of an ancient city. In this paper we present arguments in favor of another hypothesis: that Pompeii came to the end of its existence after the completion of the canal which was constructed in ruined city, however, still not fully covered by the volcanic ashes. The paper brings up for discussion some results of the author’s study partially popularized on the Internet and presents his opinion that the famous Pompeii, being excavated by the archeologists in the last 200 years, in fact finally disappeared off the face of the earth as a result of the eruption of Vesuvius in 1631.

Mi devo trovare a concordare. Si è cercato ripetute volte di esporre e spiegare che la persistenza di un toponimo non corrisponde a continuità di vita, e che per motivare ragionevolmente una continuità di vita debbono sussistere prove legate ad una stratificazione antropica, in questo caso urbana. Ma pare proprio, invece, che l'utente, anziché instaurare un dialogo con noi, perseveri in questa forma di monologo sterile, e peraltro fastidioso, proprio perché, nella sua sterilità, si rivela completamente infruttuoso, per lui e per noi.
Mi auguro che l'autore del topic si renda conto, prima o poi, della differenza (concettuale ma sopratutto METODOLOGICA) tra una ricerca archeologica e storica e una speculazione pseudo-letteraria. Speculazioni che purtroppo già ci bombardano abbondantemente tramite i più svariati mezzi di comunicazione: sarebbe bello che almeno il contubernium ne fosse depurato.

Actually, everyone can spend his money in the way he prefers: I won't spend 5,99€ for a 14 pages .pdf. Apart from my own opinion on the .pdf itself. I mean: first, I buy things which deserve to be bought, in my opinion; second, .pdf files are usually free.
Third: yes, you're spamming your link.
Fourth: I don't waste my time doing things I don't like. For example, I'm not going to the cinema and watch Avatar movie. Same about reading things I don't like (to choose whether a book is worthy of being bought or not, I read the abstract. Enough said.)
